Our Team.

Gerry Brien, PhD

I obtained by PhD studying chromatin biochemistry and epigenetics in Trinity College Dublin. Following this I pursued post-doctoral training in the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School focused on childhood cancer research. Now I am bringing together my expertise in the areas of chromatin biology and cancer to better understand childhood cancers and guide the development of better treatments.

Eimear Lagan

Eimear did her undergraduate studies in Genetics in Trinity College Dublin obtaining a first-class honours grade. Her PhD studies are focused on understanding disease mechanisms and identifying better therapeutic approaches in childhood brain tumours.

Anthony Doherty

Before joining the lab Anthony completed his undergraduate studies in neuroscience in University College Dublin where he obtained a first-class honours grade. As part of his PhD studies he is primarily focused on using new small-molecules to target underlying transcriptional vulnerabilities in childhood sarcomas.

You…?

We’re always interested in adding to our team and have lots of exciting projects seeking to discover how altered chromatin biology drives childhood cancer development. If you’re interested in using cutting-edge genomic, epigenetic, chemical biology and biochemical approaches to make important discoveries that will have positive impact for patients we might be the lab for you.
